Iowa One Call (IOC) is excited to announce our 2026 Calendar Photo Contest! In honor of National Safe Digging Month, starting on April 1, 2025, we are inviting photographers of all levels to capture and submit photos that showcase the quintessential spirit of the great state of Iowa.

The top 12 photos will be featured in our official IOC 2026 calendar. Additionally, each of the winning photographers, chosen by our panel of judges, will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. Submissions are due by April 25, 2025. See below for the official submission guidelines and rules.

Iowa One Call 2026 Calendar Photo Contest Rules and Guidelines

Eligibility:

  • The contest is open to all photographers, both amateur and professional.
  • Participants must be residents of Iowa.
  • Photos must be taken in Iowa and submitted by the original photographer.
  • No photos generated using artificial intelligence (AI) software may be submitted.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Images without people are preferred.
  • All entries must be submitted via this form on the Iowa One Call website.
  • The form will ask participants to provide the following information:
    • Name
    • Email
    • Phone Number
    • County where the photo was taken
    • Professional social media handles (optional)
  • Participants can submit one photo each.
  • Entries must be in high-resolution format (preferably in JPEG or PNG) to be considered for the calendar.
  • Entries must be in a horizontal (landscape) format.
  • Entries must be taken in Iowa.
  • The submission deadline is April 25, 2025.

Photo Themes:

  • Submitted photos should reflect the essence of Iowa. This includes its landscapes, landmarks, culture, people, traditions, or any other aspect that is quintessentially Iowa.

Judging Panel:

  • A panel of judges selected by Iowa One Call will evaluate all submissions and select the top 12 photos for the calendar. The judges’ decision is final.

Prizes:

Twelve photos will be chosen and featured in the calendar along with the photographers’ names, and each of the 12 winners will also receive a $50 Amazon gift card. Optionally, winners’ professional social media handles will be published with the photos in the calendar as well.

Winning Entries:

  • Winners will be notified via email by May 1, 2025.
  • The winning photos will be featured in the official Iowa One Call 2026 calendar.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Iowa One Call reserves the right to disqualify any photo that does not comply with the rules and guidelines.
  • Submitted photos should not infringe upon any copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights.

Usage Rights:

  • Iowa One Call may use winning and non-winning photos in various promotional materials, attributing photographers with use. Optionally, winners’ professional social media handles will be tagged with photos in the calendar and/or on the Iowa One Call social media account.
